Lower Lung Cancer Risk

One study conducted by Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention in China showed a 44% lower risk of developing lung cancer by people who ate raw garlic at least twice a week during a 7 year study.

Lower osteoarthritis levels

Studies have proven the effectiveness of allium vegetables in lowering osteoarthritis levels. Women with diets rich in allium vegetables had lower levels of osteoarthritis. Examples of allium vegetables include garlic.

Powerful Antibiotic

Garlic contains the compound Diallyl sulfide, which studies have proven to be 100 times more effective than two popular antibiotics in fighting the Campylobacter bacteria.

Lower High Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure

In a study conducted by Ankara University,  23 volunteers, all with high cholesterol (13 of them also had high blood pressure) took garlic extract supplements for 4 months and were regularly checked for blood lipid parameters, as well as kidney and liver function. At the end of the 4 month study, their high cholesterol levels were reduced along with their high blood pressure levels.

Because it is a source of the flavonoid quercetin, garlic contains antibiotic properties that empower it to fight colds, stomach viruses, and yeast infections.
